Title: Improvements at Rye Beach
Author: Niebergall, Ernst
Description: As time passed, Rye Beach became much more than a haven for groups to picnic and swim. The Sandusky ice man, baker, and ice cream and soft drink manufacturers made daily trips to Rye Beach to meet the needs of summer residents. Sidewalks brought a sense of permanency to the community. In 1922, the Rye Beach Owners Association brought improvements to cottage owners. A new dock, water plant, boat harbor, kindergarten, and postal station were some of the improvements.
