Description: The "Isaac M. Scott" was built of steel in 1909 at Lorain, Ohio. She was of 6372 gross tons. She was owned by the Virginia Steamship Company of Cleveland, Ohio with M. A. Hanna Company as managers. When bound for Milwaukee, Wisconsin with a cargo of coal, she was caught in the fierce gale of Lake Huron that was known as the "Big Storm." Fighting desperately to keep afloat in the blinding storm, she was swept by tons of icy water faster than the pumps could work. She sank with her entire crew of twenty-eight.
