Description: The "H. W. Williams" was built at South Haven, Michigan in 1888 and ran the South Haven-Chicago route. She later was named the "Tennessee" (1910-1913) running from Chicago to Saugatuck. In 1913 she became the "Pere Marquette No. 8" running on the Frankfort-Pentwater route. After lying idle from 1924 at Manistee, Michigan, she caught fire and burned to a total loss on Oct. 26, 1927. The "Kalamazoo" was built of wood at Saugatuck, Michigan in 1888 and was listed out of Grand Haven. She was rebuilt as a passenger vessel in 1889. She collided with "Pilgrim" on May 25, 1892 in mid-lake, bound from Holland, Michigan to Chicago. "Pilgrim" took the vessel in tow, but she sank in deep water after about eight hours; no lives lost.
