dc.description The "Eastland" was built by the Jenks Ship Building Company in Port Huron, Michigan in 1903. The ship, with two triple expansion engines powered with the steam from four Scotch boilers, could reach speeds up to 22 miles per hour. Until 1908, she carried passengers on excursions on Lake Michigan. en
